Profile

Dr. Ignacio Tapia received his medical degree from the University of Concepcion, Chile. He completed a residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in pediatric pulmonology from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Dr. Tapia earned a Master of Science degree in Translational Research from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently the Batchelor Professor of Pediatric Pulmonology and chief of the division of Pediatric Pulmonology at the University of Miami. Dr. Tapia's research has resulted in several key grant awards, including from the NIH, and he has authored more than 70 publications. He has held editorial positions at several publications including the editorial Board of Pediatric Respiratory Reviews and Chest.
