Courtney Hansen
Courtney Hansen is a non-attorney special education advocate living in Northern Colorado, and is also the parent of a child with Down syndrome. As a former military spouse, Courtney has advocated for the rights of her own son as well as other children with disabilities in five different states. She is currently the lead instructor for the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates' National Special Education Advocacy Training course. Courtney has a Masters in Education, and taught for several years in secondary education. Courtney has worked tirelessly to help build inclusive IEPs for dozens of children with a wide range of disabilities around the nation. She believes all children, regardless of the severity of their disability, should be meaningfully included with their nondisabled peers for the majority of their school day.
