Dr. Cara Soccorso

Dr. Cara Soccorso is a pediatric psychologist in Developmental Medicine at Boston Children?s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Soccorso is a team member of the Down Syndrome Program. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of children with neurodevelopmental disorders, including Down syndrome, intellectual disability, autism, and ADHD. Her research interests include the quality of life and family functioning in children with autism and Down syndrome and regression in individuals with Down syndrome. She also has a personal connection with understanding special needs, as she had an uncle with Down syndrome. Dr. Soccorso completed her masters and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology at William James College and her undergraduate studies in psychology at Boston College. She completed her APA internship at the Leon O. Brenner Center for Psychological Assessment and Consultation and her two-year fellowship at Boston Children?s Hospital in the Developmental Medicine Center.
