Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Simpson is a practicing Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant working for an outpatient clinic in Quincy, Illinois that provides outpatient pediatric therapy services within a clinic setting and also services one school district in rural Missouri and one residential school in Illinois. She has been a practicing therapist for 11 years and has worked in a variety of settings including long term care, home health, pediatric school therapy (in both private, public and residential schools) and has also worked in pediatric outpatient therapy. Throughout her experiences, she has developed a passion for providing assistive technology for all children who may have difficulty with the traditional classroom academic standards, as well as providing a voice through AAC for children who may be pre-verbal or non-verbal. She believes that all children have the ability to learn when provided with the proper tools and resources. She is a current member of the United States Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication and strives to continue to break down barriers faced and help support children with a wide range of abilities and their families. Ashlee resides in Shelbina, Missouri with her husband and three fur babies, where she enjoys gardening, spending time with friends and family and being involved in rodeo, as she and her husband raise bucking stock. She has attended multiple international conferences to include: International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication in Gold Coast, Australia, STAR Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder International 3S Symposium in Seattle, Washington, and the National Down Syndrome Congress Conference in Phoenix, Pittsburg, and New Orleans.
