Medication Management to Address Challenging Behaviors in Down Syndrome

Down syndrome is associated with a wide range of developmental and behavioral challenges that may sometimes necessitate use of medications. We will present an overview of the challenging behaviors seen in Down syndrome, followed by an in-depth discussion of the principles of medication use for challenging behaviors in Down syndrome. We will focus on the "w" questions as it applies to medication use -Who? Why? When? Where? How? And What? This will be followed by ample time for questions and discussion with the audience about medications for behavior.
