Optimizing Health Care in Children

Evidence-based healthcare for people with Down syndrome is relatively new. It can be challenging to find accurate and up to date information on the internet or sometimes even from healthcare providers. This workshop is intended to empower caregivers to know about the medical issues that are more common in people with Down syndrome in an easily understood presentation. Dr. Vellody will focus on the medical issues seen in children and adolescents and how the AAP Healthcare Guidelines allow people with Down syndrome to live healthier and happier lives. There will be anonymous audience engagement.
