ABLE and Special Needs Trusts: How they work together and alone

Special needs trusts (both self-settled and third-party) and ABLE Act accounts are wonderfully symbiotic. In appropriate circumstances, an ABLE Act account can effectively eliminate the asset limit for SSI and Medicaid eligibility, and a special needs trust can provide goods and services not available through the public benefit programs. Best of all: personal autonomy and self-determination can be the main focus!
