Women's health and Down syndrome

Women with Down syndrome and their caregivers can often find it difficult to navigate some of the nuances of women's health and how what they experience may or may not be different than their typical peers. In this session, Dr. Graham will focus on similarities and differences for women with Down syndrome when it comes to their health for a variety of topics, including menstruation, PMS, HPV vaccines, cancer screening, pelvic exams, pap smears, pregnancy, birth control, and menopause. Additionally, Dr. Frank will share resources available and strategies to help understand women's health topics. Finally, Margot Rhondeau will share a new resource created by the National Down Syndrome Society in partnership with DSMIG-USA, for medical providers about women's health. This resource can help inform your primary care provider about these topics and how they can best support you or your loved one.
