Comprehension Strategies To Build A Better Reader

Students with Down syndrome may be able to accurately read words and sentences they do not understand. In such cases, a student's decoding or sight word reading skills are said to be ahead of their comprehension skills. In this session, we will discuss strategies, resources and activities to support and improve comprehension. This session equips parents and professionals with tools to enhance the comprehension skills of students with Down syndrome and other students with visual learning strengths.
