We often hear stories featuring people with Down syndrome who have successful businesses ranging from designing socks to selling cookies, but we don't often explore the nuts and bolts of exactly how to do that and how they got to that point. How did you figure out what talents to build the business on and develop skills while growing up? How did you choose a business model? How do you manage collaboration between family members assisting with the business, and how do you continue building independence in business management? What sources of funding are available, and how do families navigate payments, other jobs, and SSI? Take a deep dive with several families on how to prepare for a business during the school years and how to set up and maintain a business in the adult years.
