Individual, Body & Environmental Safety Strategies

Children with developmental delays and Down syndrome may be particularly vulnerable to individual and environmental safety risks. Medical needs and areas of skill deficit warrant the need for proactive and preventative strategies. This presentation will provide caregivers with information and ideas to facilitate the implementation of interventions to reduce the risk of unsafe situations. This will include topics of unsafe challenging behaviors, individual and body safety, and environmental/home safety.
