Addressing Behavior and Sensory Needs to Support Individuals with DS-ASD

Children and adults with DS-ASD frequently experience more significant challenges with behaviors, and sensory issues than individuals with Down syndrome alone. Simply stated, this journey is complicated. Led by a psychologist, occupational therapist and seasoned parent, this presentation will address common behavior and sensory needs and provide practical evidenced? based strategies to successfully support an individual with DS-ASD. This session will also include an open forum to field questions from the participants. Objectives:-Identify factors that influence participation in daily tasks-Discuss strategies to address these factors-Provide practical examples of these strategies implemented to support improved engagement.
