Alzheimer's Disease & Down Syndrome: Newest Clinical Trials, Prevention, & Treatment

Dr. Huntington Potter discovered the mechanistic relationship between Alzheimer's disease and Down syndrome. Dr. Potter received a groundbreaking NIH grant that will fund a clinical trial to understand how a potential Alzheimer's drug may improve cognition in young adults with Down syndrome. Dr. Potter will share how that same drug is working in patients without Down syndrome who have Alzheimer's and what the hopes are for our loved ones with Down syndrome. Dr. Michael Rafii is a physician-scientist whose research focuses on developing treatments for Alzheimer's disease in Down syndrome. He will share about the Trial Ready Cohort for Down syndrome, and how you can enroll in this trial through advocacy. Attendees will understand the timeline and potential outcome involved and what potential preventive measures can be taken in the meantime.
