Advancing Inclusion and Accessibility for Diverse Families

The session will emphasize education and awareness, providing culturally sensitive resources. The session will promote culturally competent outreach to engage Black and diverse families within Down Syndrome Associations locally and nationally. It will advocate for language accessibility, diverse representation in leadership, financial accessibility, general access and more. The ultimate goal is to create an inclusive environment by actively involving diverse voices, barriers, and increased representation.The session will encourage collaboration between the Black Down Syndrome Association, local associations, community organizations, and healthcare professionals to implement initiatives and ensure ongoing evaluation of their impact.
