IEP Development + Collaborative Planning = The MAP Process

The Making Action Plans (MAP) process provides a structured format that facilitates an interactive and collaborative IEP meeting. This session will feature an overview of this process, specific steps to implement this interactive process, and illustrations on how this process can create meaningful and measurable goals and benchmarks while also taking into consideration the overall dreams and goals not only of the student but also of the family. Evidence suggests following this process engages all team members, gives purpose to the IEP meeting, leads to an effective measurable product, and allows the entire team to think beyond annual goals and benchmarks and contextualize overall growth and development towards lifelong dreams.
